You can also get this as a quest reward from Master Saberlin in Beacon's Perch (after completing the quest Hungry Devourer) for the quest "The Deserters".

Energy is increased by 1 per hit, I believe.
I don't know how it affects adrenaline, as my monk does not have any skills requiring adrenaline.

I use this skill all the time soloing, so yes the energy gained is 1 point per hit. The adrenaline seems to be less then 1 strike, maybe something like 1/2 or 1/4 per hit. Thats still pretty good though when you consider the fact you get it every time you're hit, and are still getting the normal amount for every swing you land. I'd say i get to use my skills twice as fast though because i'm normaly facing more then one critter when i'm soloing.

the adrenaline is WAY less. but you have to remember, everytime you lose health from damage it pumps your adrnaline. 100% health is somewhere around 8 strikes. i let a level 5 animal hit me and it did 0 each time. took it 50 hits to charge my penetrating blow (which is 5 normal striked of adrenaline) so if you let something hit you for 5% health each time. its going to charge way faster. the actual bonus form the enchantment is around 1/10 of a normal strike (added on top of the health loss adrenaline)

Adrenaline gained from getting hit is completely different from adrenaline gained from hitting. You get 1 hit of adrenaline each time you hit, but only 1/20 of a hit each time you are hit. With level 10 smiting you get 1/5 adrenaline each time you are hit. Hope that helps.

With the new patch, this skill now reads slightly differently:
Enchantment Spell. While you maintain this "Enchantment", target ally gains adrenaline and Energy after taking damage. (The amount of adrenaline gained increases depending on your rank in Smiting Prayers).

No, that dmg is from Life Bond - your not actually getting hit. (Assuming you are talking about the monk the casts it).
-------------------------------
The Amount of energy from Balt is 1 per hit ALWAYS, 0 smiting, or 16 smiting.
The Adrenaline boost is augmented. Its already been explained..but it augments the percent of a strike you get per hit. (at 16 smiting, it seems to give you almost a full strike).
The adren. isnt why its used in farming - 1 Cyclone Axe is already going to fill up all your adren. skills.
The energy part is why its used in farming though - since it never gets better - its still effective at 0 smiting, so you dont have to waste pts.

well since this is supposed to be a comment thread:
It is very helpful if you fancy playing a W/Mo heal, protect, or smite.
The adrenaline and energy allow you to deal your damage and spells quicker.

i have a warrior that uses it, and with 11 in smiting i get 2-3 energy per hit, and its difficult to know how much adrenaline, i am guessing somewhere in the 0.5-1.5 range, but bear in mind u get adrenline for getting hit anyway.
i use bal aura, and that requires 25 nrg, basically, withou spirit i found myself struggling with the nrg, and with it i found it much easier. How useful it is for a monk i dont know, against monk killers it could prove very effective, as they would constantly re-supply ur nrg, or simple for backing up warriors.
edit, just notices rulings post, i find that ts true what u have said abour adrenaline, but i think on nrg u may be wrong. i have not tested it, but i do know that with bal spirit on, getting attacked def fills up 25 nrg quicker than 25 strikes from a enemy (i dont have any regen).
u may be right, i may be, but nonetheless ur correct, its exremely useful in getting nrg, thats for sure.
*goes away to test*

Its simple test: When something hits you look above your head.
They updated energy effecting skills where it actually shows the + or - energy above your head.
So get 12 Smiting, go outside and get hit, and watch the +1 above your head. Its purple. Then look at your Energy bar -and its 1 more energy than before (alittle more acutally cause of regen)
I was mad when I pumped balt up and expected alot of Energy too :\
